Why Geocaching? It's been a long time since I last spent much of my time hiking in the woods. I even spent some time orienteering as a kid. Eventually, my summers were spent boating on the ocean and later at work. Now that I live in the Seattle area I realized that I had a perfect opportunity to enjoy some of the best outdoor trails in the world. Why hadn't I ventured out before? I've become a couch potato techie, that's why. I heard about Geocaching and thought it was an interesting idea. My wife felt it might be a good excuse to get me out of the house more often so she bought me a GPS for Christmas. Once the weather warmed up I was out the door and haven't stopped yet. If you need some exercise, something to beat cabin fever, a way to spend time with your spouse and kids, or even a virtual guide for a tour of your new hometown, this is a wonderful game for you. I've got about 4 dozen smiley superballs to pass around. Look for them in a cache near you! |
